Distortion in Progress
As you have seen on the previous pages, after fifteen years have passed since the completion of the Northeast Project in 2007, many famous history books around the world have distorted the fortresses of Goguryeo and Balhae as parts of the Great Wall of China. Since 1997, China has removed the traces of the ruins of "Bakjak fortress", a fortress of Goguryeo near the Yalu(Amnok) River, and built "Hushan fortress" on the site, and China claims it to be a part of the Great Wall.
Due to China's history distortion, "Bakjak fortress" of Goguryeo is transformed as a part of the Great Wall. The Great Wall of China is a representative symbolic cultural heritage of China that is always described on famous world history textbooks. In these books, stories about the Great Wall and Emperor Qin Shi Huang are always shown, but China is secretly usurping the history of Goguryeo and Balhae using the Great Wall.
What is more serious is that, in world history books, where the Great Wall of China wrongly reached the interior of the Korean Peninsula, most of Korea's territory during the Goguryeo period was marked as Chinese territory. We must prevent the presentation of Korean history as Chinese history through forged maps of the Great Wall extending to the Korean Peninsula from being perceived as fact by young people around the world through the most famous history books published in Europe and the United States.
However, the issue does not end here.
China's history distortion, exclusive and reckless Chinese Zhonghua nationalism, cultural imperialism, and cultural theft combined, the threat to neighboring countries and peoples is being intensified day by day. The issues below may be a little bit unfamiliar to you at first, but as you get to understand what is going on, you will begin to appreciate the seriousness of these issues.
