Searching for the Historical Truth

The name ‘Korea’

As of 2020, China is distortedly promoting worldwide that the Great Wall had extended even further into Pyongyang. The fortresses of the Goguryeo Kingdom(37 BCE - 668 CE) and Balhae Kingdom(698 CE - 926 CE) of Korean history is now being included in the Great Wall of China. The Chinese government has been making a distorted claim that, based on the current border, all fortresses within its territory are parts of the Great Wall of China, and through this, China is trying to manipulate the history of Goguryeo and Balhae into Chinese history.

However, ‘Korea’, the present English name of Korea, has been widely known to the world by the name of Goryeo(918 CE - 1392 CE), and Wang Geon, the founder of Goryeo, had internationally declared that Goryeo succeeded Goguryeo. By applying syllogistic reasoning, we can reason that the name ‘Korea’ inherits ‘Goguryeo’. Despite the clear fact that the name and culture of Goguryeo comes from the ancient Korean kingdom consisted of Korean people, China has been distorting the history of Goguryeo as Chinese history, forming a part of the Northeast Project.

Fight for the truth together

We have anlayzed world history textbooks and educational materials published by major publishers such as Dorling Kindersley(DK), Glencoe, Times, National Geographic, McDougal Littell, Oxford, Pearson Longman, and Apprentice Hall. Only a small portion of the books by these publishers marked the eastern end of the Wall[accurately](<https://great-wall.notion.site/Where-is-the-eastern-end-of-the-Wall-b92596b249af4832be880819b30e65c1>). A more serious problem here is that the Great Wall of China is a representative cultural heritage of China that is essentially introduced in these famous world history textbooks. Stories about the Wall and Emperor Qin Shi Huang are all described in these books, but by using the Wall, China is covertly disguising the history of Goguryeo and Balhae of Korea.

Supposing that the Wall were extended further into the Korean Peninsula, then Korean history maps should also include the Wall. However, in reality, the Wall is not displayed on any historic maps of Korea. If the history of Goguryeo and Balhae are distorted with the description of the Wall on these books, in the near future, teenagers worldwide will naturally perceive the history of Goguryeo and Balhae as Chinese history. Therefore, history distortion by China with the Wall is not only a problem of Korea and China, but also of countries around the world.

With this website, we would like to inform you and the world of China’s reckless expansion of the Great Wall. If we leave the world map in the textbooks with the Great Wall extending all the way into the Korean Peninsula, one day, China would be able to demand that the international community recognize Korean territory as China’s territory based on the Great Wall. We sincerely ask you to look into this matter closely and fight together for the historical truth by actively participating in our campaigns.
