Distortion in Progress
We have analyzed more than 140 World History books and educational materials written in English. Among these, 53 books introduced the Great Wall of China on its contents. However, only 15
images introduced the eastern end of the Wall precisely as near Shanhaiguan, Hebei Province.
39
images marked the eastern end of the Wall wrongly as Yalu River(Amnok River) or Shinuiju.
12
images even depicted the end of the wall as if it had reached further south to North Pyongan Province or South Pyongan Province of North Korea.
The maps displayed in this website mainly focus on the extent of the Great Wall. However, there has been problems beyond the Great Wall Issue. Some maps introduced on this website include other errors. We briefly explained about other errors on such maps’ descriptions. For more information, check out Problems Beyond the Great Wall Issue
